April 12, 2009 Happy Easter

Wow, It has been a while! A busy month and a half! Lots of bad weather and many gloomy days. I have continued crafting, bowling, walking, "pilatesing," knitting, and keeping the house moving.....and somewhat clean.

We have done a lot of wedding planning and are "gettin' er done!" We had a slight setback this week...we finally got the paper for the invitations ordered and....they sent the wrong ones. We have food which includes meat and sides. We have the photographer, the d.j. Chris, the place, the dress, the bridesmaid dresses. We still have a lot to do but....

Lauren and Joe moved into their house this weekend. They are very excited about that. More excited about that than the wedding. Once they are more settled, they can switch to wedding.

Chris and Angela are working on their house and can actually work in their yard. The lucky dogs. They are both teaching and spending lots of good times with friends and family. They are making Easter Dinner for some buds. I wish they could be here or we could be there.

Lauren and Joe are coming over here for Easter. We are having prime rib, mashed potatoes, veggies, and brownies for dessert. I am glad they live close.

From our last storm, some huge branches broke off from a tree in the front yard and Pete cut them up and we took them to the dump. I hope that is the last bad storm, but I'm bettin' it isn't!

Happy Easter to allllllll and to allll a good night.

March 1, 2009

Wow what a week. We got home from Ft. Collins, Monday afternoon. We were settling in for the night and at 10:30 got a call that the high school was on fire. Goodbye Pete until 2:30 in the morning. The fire was contained in the auditorium roof, but smoke damage and smell bothered the students and teachers all week. No "fire day." This was Pete's chance, but ..... no, school as usual. Then on Tues. the boys basketball team played their first playoff game at home and WON! Their next game was to be Sat. in Golden.

Then on to the rest of the hectic week, Pete had school board on Thurs. so Deb packed up and went to Winter Park to see her sister, brother in law, Jacqueline, Tiffany, Mike, Julie and Maggie. Too much food and too much drink. We went on a sleigh ride and steak dinner and had a lot of fun. Then Chris and Ang, joined us with their dogs and all got along great. Chris and Ang built an igloo the next morning with Jacque and Maggs, and then, too soon, we all had to head home. Deb will miss her Florida crew and Arizona crew immensly.

We went out to dinner with the Rughs on Sat. night and then over to Whinery's Sun. to view the movie "Taking Chance." I had Chance Phelps as a third grade student. Sadly, he lost his life in Iraq. A documentary was made to honor Chance and all veterans. If you have a chance to see it, do. It is very well done.

Well, it's on to another busy week. No traveling this week,....Our Ft. Collins kids are coming Friday so....something to look forward to. Love to all.

P.S. I'm sorry to say, the boys bb team lost in Golden but gave a great effort. Maybe next year but they had a great season.

February 22

What a busy week. We did go to Ft. Collins and met my cute new grand dog, yes dog, named Wrigley. He is a part bouvier and part australian shephard. He is so dark black, you can hardly see his eyes. He will be a great friend to Tucker.

We went to see a movie, Benjamin Button, went shopping, took the new dog on a walk, and ate out. The picture of Ang and I is taken at Five Guys, a great burger place and then we went to Rodizio Grill for a great dinner the second night. It was fun seeing Chris and Ang's house now that they are all settled in. The weather is better in Ft. Collins than it is in Craig.

Then on Tues., I took my friend Janele to Steamboat to a doctor appointment. We ate lunch out and talked and laughed and caught up. Never enough time for Janele and I.

Thursday, I went to lunch with 2 good friends I worked at Ridgeview with. Great catching up with them. Then I went bowling and actually broke 100. Not bad....

On Friday, I cleaned and then went bowling again with some different friends, and yuck, I bowled like ka ka. Not even close to 100. Pete and I went to high school basketball game and they won. Joe's freshman team won on Saturday. Yeah.

Sat. I went to coffee with the girls and have been kickin' back the rest of the weekend. I hope a nice bright sun comes out this week and the street cleaner cleans the streets.

Jana is coming to Winter Park on Tues. and I have to try to see my "J" this week. She lost 4 teeth. Jacqueline , not Jana. See you all next week.

Friday, the 13th

We are going to Ft. Collins tomorrow to see our old kids' house and enjoy a Valentine's dinner with them. Just what every kid wants.....mom and dad on Valentine's Day. I'm just getting them ready for the future. Above is a picture of our whole bowling crew. This is from last week, and I found a cool bowling shirt from my friend, Shannon, for my next time. Watch out baby, I feel the strikes comin' on

February 8

Sunday, November 8

Busy week and weekend. Lauren, Shawn and I went wedding dress shopping in Denver. We met Shannon after her LAST CHEMO and she helped us out a lot. We took Grandma Joyce with us on Fri. and Sat. and had a blast. We found a dress. It is beautiful and Lauren will look beautiful in it. One more thing done.

We went to dinner and met Janie, Jenna, and Jennifer and had a great time. Trucked on home, great roads, great time. Only bummer was we hit a kitten outside of town. Made me real real sad.

Included is a very memorable picture of Lauren and my mom.

Last week of January 2009

Well, where did this week go? Not the best of weather at the beginning of the week, but it ended beautiful. The highlight of the week was getting our new microwave put in. Of course dad had to put it in and that is never easy. He did a great job and we made popcorn today to test it. Thursday, my retired girlfriends and I went bowling. Fun fun fun. Believe it or not, I am sore. Geeze how out of shape can you get. Sat, today, we went cross country skiing. Beautiful weather. Sophie had a blast. Superbowl tomorrow and I guess I will root for Phoenix cause I wish I were in Phoenix so.....why not?
